Born beneath Midwestern thunder yet sharpened on the whetstone of the North, Nornsöng strikes with the fury of a longship breaching storm-torn seas. Fronted by Norwegian vocalist Naomi Larssen, whose Old Norse tongue and ironclad voice roar like a valkyrie unleashed, the band channels the blood-fire of myth into modern metal. With Shawn Crapo’s blade-edged lyrics and lead guitar, Sean Moore’s soaring harmonies, Jason Mueller’s earth-shaking bass, Stefani Ellis’s icy keys and ancient strings, Nathan Hinn’s war drums, and the haunting backing vocals of Silje Vangstad, Nornsöng (Fate's Song) summons the spirit of the Viking age in epic proportions. From Ymir’s birth-cry, Ragnarök’s doom, to the battle-songs of Halgerder, Bjorn Ironside, and the warriors who fell at Stamford Bridge, this is music carved from bone and thunder—where history becomes saga, and saga becomes war-song.
Now, after several years, Nornsöng has branched out into other subjects, expanding its influence across the board. From songs about fantasy, science fiction, and horror, to the Eldritch mystery of the Volnich Manuscript, their creative spirits have expanded into many subgenres. Still Viking at heart, the band hopes to attract more followers with a wide range of interests and tastes.
